![]() This is not a how to draw book for beginners, and in fact does not contain instructions on how to begin to draw people. This is especially true when people are punching, kicking, crouching, and all the out-of-the-box style movements that accompany fighting. As any artist knows, it's really hard to imagine where the different human body parts fit when you get outside the basic standing or sitting portrait style of art, so this is a valuable tool for people creating characters from scratch. In volume 3, people are fighting in various poses that will help to inspire you to create your own characters in similar poses. This allows you to start your own outline, and fill in your own character details in a similar pose. ![]() It shows people lightly sketched out with ball joints to straight lines connecting body parts, then it shows another figure in the same pose but more fleshed out, with curved human (or sometimes fairy, or monster). ![]() This book series is a number of progressions of characters in different poses. ![]()

This character lived the life of a playboy, extreme sport enthusiast and corporate raider. (It’s hard to imagine a more “ordinary life” than this in the modern era.) Through an employment service she managed to unexpectedly end up with a job caring for Will: a quadriplegic. The story began as Lou lost her job working at a café. The author introduced readers to twenty six year old Louisa (aka Lou), “an ordinary girl, leading an ordinary life.” This suited her “fine.” (Location 346) Her boyfriend, Patrick, took her for granted. While I had some issues with it I thought both the story and main characters outstanding. I don’t typically read romantic dramedies so I didn’t know quite what to expect when I began this book. A heart warming and heartrending read resulted. The tale also included some unexpected plot developments. In the process she may have written the most unconventional love story every created. I kind of regret that I’ve never been hanging around when someone pulled something old and cool out of the ground and I am a little jealous of those who have. However, I’ve never been to a dig site or participated in any of the usual archaeologist activities most people picture when they hear the word. ![]() This was, by any reasonable measure, an archaeological study. I took measurements of five-hundred-year-old crossbows in a Swiss castle and examined an early 15th century crossbow in the basement of the Met in New York. I did my PhD on the development of the bow and the crossbow in the later Middle Ages and for much of my evidence I used surviving medieval weapons. I have often felt like a fake archaeologist. ![]() 5/13/2023 0 Comments Perfect Square by Michael Hall![]() ![]() What happens when a “perfectly happy” perfect red square gets cut into pieces, poked full of holes, torn, crumpled, and shredded? Joe realises that he has to drag a reluctant Larkin from her privileged background and hide her from view in the more downmarket areas of L.A., while at the same time bloodily taking the battle to the enemy.
